Welcome Baby Shirley | MJ’s Newborn Session | Murfreesboro, TN Photographer

I’ve captured a few sessions for this sweet family the past couple of years, and I have to say as they grow the world becomes a brighter place. This makes baby # 3 for this section of the crew, and this year I captured older siblings Tristan and Mahayla at Easter; as well as during the summer with Amy’s Parents for a little Grandparent session.

Little MJ (Marshall James) surprised everyone by entering the world about 3 weeks early and at a healthy 7lbs 5oz! I shot his mother’s maternity images a few weeks prior and even though then she still had a few months to go I had a feeling he’d come early…just not 3 weeks early :) It’s true, babies have “their” own timeline…and that feeds right over in to their newborn session.

I couldn’t get this handsome little man to open his eyes for any.thing!  He’d peek one eye or the other, but both were SCARCE…this little man loves to sleep! I managed to sneak ONE single shot of both of his eyes cracked just barely and he’s looking at me like “Lady, why are you trying to wake me up?”  I love it!

His parents, Michael & Amy, are huge MTSU, Middle Tennessee State Fans and Alumni. So it was only fitting that wee little MJ get his first taste of the Blue and White in the fashion of his first MTSU toboggan   Michael got his blue MTSU lights out of the attic and they made a perfect accompaniment for what will certainly be only his first time wearing by Raider Blue.

Of course since he came before Christmas it only seemed right that this little gift from God be put into a stocking…mommy and daddy’s little stocking stuffer seemed to enjoy the swaddle up time in the giant decorative sock.  Of course I broke out the “My First Christmas” hat since it was his first Christmas and all…it was just too.adorable laying in the sleigh.

Ok ok enough of my rambling about how precious the images are…see for yourselves!  Thank you Amy & Micheal for allowing me the honor to capture these priceless times in your lives, and for being some seriously amazing friends! Love you all!!!

Meet the Browns | Newborn Lifestyle Photographer | Huntsville, AL

I first met Cheryl while visiting a mutual friend at MTSU.  Then only a few months after I moved to Middle, TN, to Murfreesboro, we became fast friends…and lifelong friends.  I met Chris in Sunday School at New Vision Baptist Church a few years later.  I still remember the night I KNEW they were made for each other.  After a cookout at Cheryl’s house he stayed and helped clean-up with she and I.  She stood there washing dishes (though he took his turn in the dishwater too ;) and he was giving her a shoulder massage.  As I turned to leave I remember still looking back in to the kitchen and thinking “I see them growing old together…just.like.that!”

Fast Forward to April 17, 2010 and they became my second wedding ever to photograph. When I stepped in to their Huntsville apartment to shoot Mr. Nathaniel’s newborn portraits I was so happy to see my work, their wedding photos, all over their walls, and to know that soon more of my work, Mr. Nathaniel Hardy Brown’s first time in front of my camera, would be on those walls too.  Since I can’t be with them all the time now that they’ve moved I feel somehow connected still through those images!

Born at 5lbs even and 18.5 inches of sheerly tiny perfection I fell in love with him the moment I knew he existed.  Another “nephew” to add to my ever growing collection of kiddos to call me “Aunt B”, and I couldn’t have been happier! He’s such a happy little fellow, and his mommy and daddy are completely smitten and working this new parenting thing like old pros.  I brought different props, backdrops, and lighting tools, but we opted to call an audible and go “natural”…or “Lifestyle” on it…and I could not be happier!  Using available light and nixing the flash as much as possible yields some of the most breathtaking results…just so you know.

I’m not a crier really, but there are several images that literally brought tears to my eyes. May they do so to you as well! ;-) So, enough of me let’s get to the sweetness that is The Brown Family!

Fall Family Session | The Craig Family | Addison 6 months

It’s so exciting to me that I get to be a part of people’s lives and capture the seemingly small moments for them.  I’m having a BLAST shooting little Miss Addison’s First Year and cannot believe we’re already to her 6 month session! UN.REAL how time flies…and she’s not even my kiddo!  I’ve had a camera in her face since she was born so I’m hoping she’s getting used to it!  We’ve got big plans for her 1 year…but I hope time crawls by for those…don’t want her growing up too fast you know!

Jennifer and Shelby are two friends now that have a brain similar to mine…I KNOW… watch out world!  They send me ideas they see online or on Pinterest, and a lot of them I’d already have been crushing on, and working out how I could own it…because copying is never cool…you want to best it if you’re going to borrow another’s idea…not make a carbon copy!  For Addison’s 6 month/Christmas pictures we knew what we wanted…Christmas Lights..and so we went for it!  I have to say, though I may be a *bit* partial I think we nailed it!  She wasn’t a fan of tummy time, but I grabbed a few cute ones anyway, and I love babies and I LOVE Christmas Lights…so what could be better huh? Yeah….Nothing…ok ok…maybe some snow, BUT in lieu of that I have to say what we have is pretty stinkin’ GORGEOUS!

The weather wasn’t really our friend with clouds and WIND like whoa, but I think it gave a look and feel that I couldn’t have anticipated turning out so beautifully.  I’ve said it before and I know I’ll say it more, but I pray for the perfect weather before every session.  It may not be what I’d want right then, and we def. have to work it out, but the end results are always more than I could have dreamed!  So, here’s to the weather maker, the Creator of everything for His blessings in disguise! Keep em’ coming big guy! :)

She's had this headband I made and this Garden Cart in all of her photos since birth so we're continuing the tradition!
